Working as a fully qualified Registered Educational Psychologist, I am fully bilingual. I conceptualise each individual according to their holistic environment and wellbeing. I work from a positivistic, systemic point, non-judgmental point of view and will support the individual according to their strengths to work through their challenges. I believe that mind, body and soul need to be aligned to have a holistic person who can reach their full potential and succeed in the way they personally believe success is!
I am Juan-Pierre also known as J-P. I am a free spirit and enjoy working with students, young and old. I believe that you are never too old to learn something new. In this regard it is conclusive to say that the clients teach me something as well. I enjoy improving as well as broadening a client’s knowledge. It must be remembered that the purpose of educational psychology is not to fill the minds of students with facts, but it is to empower them to think for themselves.
“If students can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn”. I do thrive when I am in a very diverse context. To enhance the meaning behind this I am a very optimistic person and always looking for new ways to improve a student’s ability to reason and to learn through challenges with the required support. I enjoy sharing fun facts during my sessions on relevant topics and creating a positive learning environment.
As a psychologist I am here to inspire before I expire, by doing this I strongly believe that I will contribute to the uprising of our society and mold the clients (and their parents) into the best that they can be!
My warm heart and caring attribute is to help when anyone needs my help or simply a cheer up. I am qualified to do full educational assessments (IEB and GET), Career assessment and guidance, diagnose psychopathologies, provide learning support and do therapy. I see problems as challenges that teaches us skills to develop! I am fond of the Solution Focused Based Therapeutic and Client-centered theories, but always adapt this style to fit the client’s needs (for example with Positive psychology or CBT).
